Happy Easter
Well, let's see. I'm real tired. Been working some on my homepage. Prolonged exposure to computer is... it messes with my head. Okay? But I want to think about the day, here. My sister dragged me to church. I'm not a fan of church, never have been. It's just so boring and annoying, it makes me not like God so much. Or rather, organized religion. Of course, it's one of the lesser evils of organized religion. God knows religion's been responsible for genuine atrocities, so having to sit through the same lectures a seemingly infinite number of times is kinda low on the list of reasons to make spirituality an individual rather than communal thing. Still, it doesn't always suck. Some preachers is coolish. Loved Pastor Bob Torosian, back in Maine (God rest his soul). It's rare to find a preacher what is genuinely funny, not to mention a fan of good science fiction. But out here, at the church my sister goes to, there's a Scottish guy named Alistair Begg, who, aside from having a cool accent, is also reasonably amusing, and on top of that his sermons tend to have some thoughts in them which seem somewhat original. He's not annoying or boring to listen to. I wouldn't want to do it on a weekly basis, or anything, but still. He's alright. Beyond that, I couldn't tell you anything about him. Parkside ain't a small town church; the congregation numbers in the thousands. Yeah, it's a pretty nice, big church. With a bookstore/coffeeshop. I had a chai latte there today, and trust me, it's better than any store-bought chai mixes or teabags to make at home. Anyway... at one point in Alistair's sermon, I was thinking he should have a blog. I tried to find out online if he had one. I didn't see any indication of such a thing. Too bad. His sermons tend to have these amusing little tangents that seem perfect for a blog. Oh well.

Um, what else? Beth wanted to go to Walmart, maybe some other stores, but they were all closed. We did however go to Applebees for lunch. I had a cowboy burger. I was thinking of Moltar's line "They make you feel like a cowboy." Which he said about "tall boys," i.e., beers. Sometimes at work if I'm stocking quarts of half & half, maybe other things, I dunno... as long as it's something tall, I'll call them tall boys in my head. I'm just crazy like that.

At home, I watched my tape of Andromeda, actually a new episode. Wow. And Cyborg 009. And then a bit of Transformers Energon. It wasn't a movie, it was a couple episodes, though I think it started recording in the middle, so it's a good thing it wasn't that pokemon movie. Which, btw, should be on next Friday. Anyway, Energon looks better than Armada, but I still couldn't get into it, maybe cuz I hadn't been watching from the beginning. So I stopped the tape and rewound without finishing it. I dunno, maybe someday I'll get into the show, maybe I won't. The girls were cute, though. I should probably try to watch more stuff tonight... I still have a tape of Tripping the Rift to watch, and Arrested Development will be on, and later Adult Swim.... and of course there's work in the morning. Which means I gotta sleep, at some point. Oh, and yesterday FHM came in the mail. I'll probably order a couple back issues I've been wanting, though the mag never lists back issues. Until now! But I have no money. I was so hoping to actually save some money from this paycheck, but it disappears unexpectedly quickly. I have a bit over $20 left, but I gotta get stamps this week, and soda, and maybe some cereal, and who knows what else? So... it'll be awhile before I order those mags, plus that Kirara plush I want, plus a couple DVDs at my store that I want.... But there are 5 Fridays this month instead of 4, which means an extra paycheck. With any luck I'll get all this stuffs, plus save a little. Of course we both need to be saving money if we wanna move this summer. I don't see how we can save enough money even if we don't splurge on anything at all... but we'll do what we can. Not that we even know if the apartment complex we wanna move to would even approve us. But we'll see....

Oh yeah, I also wanted to say... I don't think Cadbury creme eggs taste quite as good as they used to, but... those mini ones are so chibi! Also, I just made a couple Easter-themed comix, in case you're interested. I may do another tomorrow, or whenever I get around to it, something I've been planning on doing for some time... I would've done it today, but... well, I just didn't want to do it on Easter. Because of the avatar thing the angel mentions... Couldn't have Jesus in today's comix, I'm afraid....
