yes, it really is warm these days. Today on my lunch break I took a book outside, sat down on the sidewalk, my back to the stone wall of the store, and read a bit in the sun. Not as much as I should have, I didn't finish a chapter. Some of the time I was just enjoying the sun and thinking of the old days when I'd sometimes sit outside reading with my back to Mementos, the comic shop, my favorite place in Caribou, though sadly it's been closed for years now. Also on my lunch break today I bought some Krispy Kreme key lime pie doughnuts. Good stuff. On my last break I went outside for just the last couple minutes before I had to clock back in, and sat on a bench. The temperature at that point was neutral. I always find it sort of surreal to walk outside into room temperature.
You know what I hate? I hate days when there's nothing much to do at work. I just have to spend the day looking for busy work. I'd much rather have genuinely productive things to do, to keep me genuinely busy. All too many days are like that, which makes so I can't really hold it against the company to not give any of their employees full time. Luckily, today wasn't like that. Usually I work in frozen. I put up ice cream today, but mostly I worked in grocery. At the end of the day I started blocking frozen, and realized I'd forgotten to put up the sale tags on the end caps. I usually don't have to do that, unless I'm the only one working in my department on Sunday. Which today I was.
What else to say? The other day I spent alot of time eliminating most of the e-mail links on my homepage. I left links on a few pages, but changed them to my new address. Also yesterday I finally watched my DVD of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I watched it in Mandarin with subtitles. I saw it on TV once before, but I don't even remember if it was subtitled or in English. I suppose next time I watch it I should watch it in English. And next time I watch Cowboy Bebop the Movie I'll watch it in Japanese. I watched it in English... a few weeks back or so. DVDs are so cool. I wish I could afford to buy more of them. Anyway, I was going to make an entry for CT,HD on a new page in my movie reviews section of my homepage, but... my browser crashed while I was working on it. My computer's been giving me alot of trouble recently. Norton never found any viruses, so I went to Trend Micro's free online virus scan, which found hundreds of files infected by worms Bagle and Netsky. I downloaded something to fix it today, and it ultimately found and seems to have deleted over 1000 files. I love you, Trend Micro!
Oh yeah, and chapter 11 of Clone Wars rocked. I look forward to the next 9 chapters. Genndy Tartakovsky is a god. Okay, now I can't think what else to say, though I probably had other things in mind. I have the memory of a particularly forgetful rutabega, as I always say....
